First Look at Brave Browser for Windows

A browser with a built-in ad-blocker, and plans for a feature that will place substitute ads on the pages you visit … advertisers are gonna hate this one if it catches on.

Brendan Eich’s new web browser Brave has finally been released as a preview for the Windows desktop. Initially released only for Apple’s iOS platform, Brave is now also available for Windows, Linux, OS X and Android. Download links for all (but the Linux) version are provided on the official Brave website, with both Windows and Mac downloads listed as developer version.

Remove Any Element on a Website with CSS Adblock

Man, there sure are a lot of ad blocking applications out there these days … here’s one that takes the concept of blocking a step farther, and allows you to block just about anything on a website that bugs you.

When you browse sites on the Internet you may sometimes stumble upon irritating or irrelevant elements on them. Maybe it is that flashing ad that you do not like, the site’s logo, some text that is displayed on all pages, or social media icons that you never use. While you can use an ad-blocker to take care of all advertisement related nuisances, a social networking blocker to get rid of media icons, or No Script to take care of many script-powered elements, you sometimes may need to remove elements that do not fall into those categories.
