Firefox 48 Release: What’s New?

Here’s a quick look at some of the new features that will be provided by Firefox 48.

Firefox 48 Stable will be released on August 2, 2016 according to the Firefox release schedule. Firefox 48 is a major release that makes add-on signing mandatory on Stable and Beta versions of the browser, and introduces multi-process functionality to the first batch of users (who don’t run any add-ons). Firefox 47.0.1 and earlier versions can be updated to Firefox 48. Additionally, updates for Firefox Beta, Developer, Nightly and Firefox ESR are released on August 2, 2016 as well.

Firefox is due for yet another update this week, so here’s a quick summary of features provided by Firefox 44.

The official release data of Firefox 44 is January 26, 2016. This overview provides you with detailed information about the new release including new features and changes in the desktop version of Firefox and the Firefox version for Android. Mozilla updates all channels of the browser that it makes available at the same time. This means that Beta, Developer Edition, Nightly and Firefox Extended Support Release channels will be updated as well.
