Employees at Dell and AMD among those held over allegedly selling information to hedge funds

Staff at technology firms Dell, Advanced Micro Devices and Flextronics International sold inside information to hedge funds, according to the FBI, which made a series of arrests today in its long-running investigation into alleged insider trading on Wall Street.

AMD to Ditch ATI Brand

Just a few years ago, AMD used to be one of the major players in the graphics card market … but now they’re gone. Such is the nature of the tech industry; the leaders seem to change every five years or so.

AMD has decided to kill off the ATI brand, synonymous with high performance graphics cards, to bring them under it’s own brand instead.

AMD acquired ATI four years ago and pledged to preserve the brand at the time.  Now though, market research for the company has suggested its own brand is well known enough to take over.
