So now we’ll all be forced to use the latest version of IE, whether we want it or not …

One of the core issues that Microsoft is facing in the browser-war is that many users of the Internet Explorer browser are not updating the web browser. If you look at the browser’s market share, you will notice that users are still working with Internet Explorer 6, 7 or 8 and not the latest version Internet Explorer 9 (IE8 for XP users). And while market shares differ depending on the way they are monitored, it is safe to say that a large part of Internet Explorer users are using outdated browser versions.

Internet Explorer 9 Beta Users Will Receive Automatic Update to RC

This kind of makes it sound like the IE9 release date must be just around the corner …

Internet Explorer 9 Beta users may be in for a surprise in the coming days as Microsoft has revealed that the release candidate of IE9 will be added as an important update to Windows Update. The rollout will start gradually and complete in the following days until all Internet Explorer 9 Beta users have been covered.
