Opera Software, just like Google or Mozilla, decided to make available three different Opera release channels to provide developers and enthusiasts with options to test new features before they reach the stable build, and get some data and bug reports from the community in return.


Opera Featherweight Introduces Interface Changes

I haven’t really tried Opera yet, but this light weight interface does sound kind of interesting …

Every browser developer seems to be inclined these days to streamline and at the same time minimize the user interface. We have seen it with Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer, and now it is Opera’s turn do propose the same. Currently available as an Opera Next snapshot only but soon making its way to stable Opera builds.


Breaking – Opera 11 Will Get Extensions

It will be interesting to see if this expands Opera’s user base …

Who would have thought that? ESPEN ANDRÉ ØVERDAHL over at Opera has just revealed that the next big iteration of the Opera web browser will have extensions. Yes, extensions like Firefox or Google Chrome. That’s probably the one major feature that is missing in Opera currently. Think of the possibilities for a moment. With extensions, it will be possible to port several of the most popular and important extensions to the browser, which will surely increase its popularity overall.
