Opera 11.51 Update Released

Wednesday, August 31st, 2011

I’m glad that I’m not trying to keep my PC current with all of these updates …

Opera Software has just released the final version of Opera 11.51 after two release candidates that have been released in the past week. The new version of the web browser fixes several stability issues which makes it more of a maintenance release than a release that comes along with new major features.

Opera Software Readies Opera 11.51 Maintenance Release

Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011

I’ve never used Opera myself … but just for the sake of variety, I think I’ll try it out soon.

When I look at the feeds in my RSS feed reader I cannot help but notice that the Opera browser is not receiving the same attention that the Firefox and Google Chrome browsers receive. This puzzled me for some time now and I figured that it is either caused by Opera’s marketing of the browser, or the fact that Firefox and Chrome are more popular than Opera.

Opera 11.11 Final

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011

You know, this is kind of unusual, but it’s been a few days since I’ve seen an article about a browser update … no wait, here’s one …

Opera Software has officially released Opera 11.11 Final a few seconds ago. The version has been available on Opera’s ftp server since yesterday, and many software download portals like Softpedia or Betanews have offered the new version since then. Thursday, January 27th, 2011

Opera Software has just released Opera 11.01, an update to Opera 11 which adds security fixes and stability improvements to the popular web browser. The final version has been released after numerous snapshots and two release candidates.

Opera 11 Alpha with Extensions Available

Thursday, October 21st, 2010

Here’s yet another browser update … I feel sorry for the people who are running IE, Chrome, Firefox and Opera all on the same machine; they must spend most of their time downloading updates!

Now that was fast. A first alpha release of Opera 11 was released by Opera Software only a few days after the announcement that Opera 11 would get extensions. The new web browser is available for all supported operating system. Even better, there are already extensions to try out. Do not expect thousands yet though, considering that this is the first public release with extensions build in.
