Paste and Go Firefox Extension

This is kind of a cool idea … but it really doesn’t take all that long to just copy and paste the URL either.

I’m always looking for ways to improve my workflow. This often involves changing a manual task into a semi-automated or fully-automated task. Take copying urls and loading them in a web browser for example. Say you received a website address in a messenger or email client that you want to open with a specific browser. You need to copy the website url, paste it into the address form of the web browser and click on the go button to do so. Some users press enter instead of clicking on go to speed up the process. That’s optimization right there.

Firefox 4 Gets Paste and Go, Yay!

It’s surprising that Firefox took so long to catch up with Opera and Chrome on a feature like this …

Sometimes, it is the little things that count. If you have been using Opera in the past you may have noticed that the browser offers a Paste & Go feature, which basically pastes and loads an url or phrase entered into the Opera address form. The same option is available for searches in the browser.

Google’s Chrome browser eventually got that feature as well, and only Microsoft’s Internet Explorer and Firefox did not. Firefox users were able to install add-ons like Paste and Go which added the feature to the browser.
