Configure Alerts for News in RSSOwl

Whether you run a blog, or if you’re just interested in keeping up with news feeds, this sounds like a useful program either way …

I currently have 220 different website feeds configured in the desktop feed reader RSSOwl. Not all are technology related but the majority are. Like any other tech enthusiast, I have sites that I’m very interested in. This can be something simple like the Nirsoft blog which pushes out posts whenever a new application has been developed, or the official Opera Desktop team feed to know when a new version of the browser gets released.

How to Setup News Filters in RSS Reader RSSOwl

Here’s an interesting trick for those of us who run news blogs …

I have been using the Java based RSS reader for all my feed reading needs for more than a year. Previously I tried to work with other desktop feed readers like FeedDemon and online readers such as Google Reader. In the beginning, I just used the program to read all the news that came in from one of the more than 200 sites that I had added to it.
