Google Discloses Another Unpatched Windows Vulnerability

This bug was discovered way back in November, 2016, but at present it doesn’t look like Microsoft has addressed the vulnerability yet.

Google Project Zero member Mateusz Jurczyk disclosed a gdi32.dll vulnerability in the Windows operating system to Microsoft on November 16, 2016. The report itself is quite technical and it would go too far to go into details here on the site. The following describes the turn of events however.

Microsoft has just released security updates for April 2015 on today’s Patch Day. Security updates are published regularly by the company on the second Tuesday of each month. This guide offers information about all security updates released on today’s Patch Day as well as security and non-security updates released for Windows since the last Patch Day on March 10, 2015.

Microsoft Security Bulletins for December 2014

When my PC reboots itself in the middle of the night, it’s usually around the 15th of the month. Were Microsoft’s Security Bulletins released a little bit early this month in order to avoid the last minute Christmas rush?

This article offers detailed information about all security and non-security patches that Microsoft released in December 2014. The company changed the way the information are provided last month. While it releases information about each bulletin just like before, it stopped the release of videos that go over each month’s security bulletins. In addition, it stopped creating sheets detailing the deployment priority of bulletins. The sheets have been replaced with a simple priority listing.

Here’s a quick summary of this month’s Microsoft Security updates … quite a few of these look like they might be pretty important …

Yes, it is this time of the month again. Microsoft has just released this month’s security bulletins for its Windows and Office products.

The company has released a total of seven bulletins targeting different client and server versions of Microsoft Windows, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Security Software, and the Microsoft .Net Framework. Four bulletins have received the highest severity rating of critical, while the other three one of important, the second highest rating.
