QuickArchiver for Thunderbird – Archive Mails Faster

Monday, August 15th, 2011

Here’s a convenient archiving tool for Mozilla Thunderbird users …

A very handy shortcut that I use regularly in the Thunderbird email client is the archive shortcut. A tap on a archives the currently selected emails, one or multiple, into the archive folder of the mail account. That’s handy if you do not need or want to sort archived emails further, for instance by contact, purpose or another sorting criteria.

Thunderbird Mailbox Alert – Notifications for Important Emails

Tuesday, January 4th, 2011

Here’s a helpful add-on for anyone who’s waiting for an important email …

I can group emails that I receive into different priorities, the highest priority is for instance reserved for emails that concern my websites and servers. Messages that inform me about server, database or website downtimes for instance have the highest priorities while confirmation orders from Amazon have not. There is however no option in Thunderbird to configure extra notifications or alerts for specific emails. Users who want to receive notifications for important emails can use the Thunderbird extension Mailbox Alert to do so.

Maybe it was an ü and you were corresponding with Herr Müller from Germany, or Søren from Denmark. Many European countries have special characters in their languages that others do not have. That’s a problem as it is then not that easy to write a character unique to that language in Firefox or Thunderbird.

Thunderbird Conversations – View All Conversation Emails at Once

Tuesday, December 7th, 2010

This looks like a useful add-on for Thunderbird …

Pre-Thunderbird 3.3 versions display every email message on their own page. The only way to follow a conversation is to make sure that all messages are included whenever a new message is written. Sure, there is this new option that displays conversations in a threaded structure instead of sorting them into the email listing, but it still means that the user has to click on each email to read them all.
